Myofascial Trigger Points

Myofascial Trigger PointsA trigger point is a hyperirritable spot within a muscle that is painful to pressure and refers pain to another area of the musculoskeletal system. Trigger points are a result of muscle strain (accidents, stress) and becomes the site of sensitized nerves, increased metabolism and decreased blood circulation. They hurt like crazy!

At Hall Chiropractic we treat this condition very successfully using a treatment commonly called “spray and stretch” which was developed by Janet Travell, M.D. who was a professor of Medicine at George Washington School of Medicine and who also was the White House Physician to Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. We also use cold laser and interferential therapy to treat this condition.
